Attach one of these to your camera and you can get some pretty great macro shots without having to spend lots of money on an expensive dedicated lens. Its certainly more fiddly to use than a macro lens and you lose the ability to control the lens (you have to set your aperture first) but the results are pretty darn good.
The results you get out of it seem very dependent on the lenses you have. So far the best I've got the best results out of my Canon 50mm 1.4 and cheap kit 55-250mm. I've heard the kit 17-55mm is supposed to work pretty well too.
Anyway worth checking out if you want to dabble in Macro photography or Video.
