Memory Cards

Simple yet still worth thinking about. You need a fast speed card for video and you need plenty of space. I find 16gb cards to be the best size. Anything bigger makes me nervous as I tend to feel you are putting all you eggs in one basket. A 16gb card will fit roughly 45minutes of footage on it.

The 7D and 5D take compact flash cards. I have a small collection of these cards and they have never let me down.

For the 550d or the Gh1 you want SD cards. As my 550d is only a b-camera I currently use the cheaper transcend cards and have never had a problem with them. If you want complete peace of mind though then you might want to consider the more expensive sandisks.
